विंडोज १० या प्रसिद्ध डेस्कटॉप ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टमचं नवं अपडेट जे या ओएसमध्ये अनेक सोयी जोडत आहे हे आता उपलब्ध झालं असून याचं नाव Windows 10 May 2020 Update असं आहे. विंडोज ओएससाठी मायक्रोसॉफ्टने विंडोज १० नंतर नवी आवृत्ती आणणार नसल्याचं जाहीर केलं होतं. यापुढे केवळ विंडोज १० लाच अपडेट्सद्वारे नव्या सुविधा जोडल्या जात आहेत. या अंतर्गत ठराविक महिन्यांनी एक मोठं अपडेट दिलं जातं त्यापैकी हे मे २०२० अपडेट आता डाउनलोड करण्यासाठी उपलब्ध आहे. याचं व्हर्जन Windows 10 Version 2004 असं असणार आहे.

नव्या विंडोजमध्ये वेगवान कनेक्शन्स, डेस्कटॉपला नावे देणे, अधिक Kaomoji चा समावेश, एज ब्राऊजरमध्ये आता रॅमचा कमी वापर, नोटपॅडमध्ये अनेक वर्षांनी नव्या सोयी, कोर्टाना हा व्हॉईस असिस्टंट आता ओएस ऐवजी सिस्टम अॅप म्हणून उपलब्ध होणार असून आता चॅट प्रमाणे काम करेल म्हणजे बोलण्याऐवजी टाइप करून सुद्धा मदत मिळवू शकाल!

हे अपडेट डाउनलोड करण्यासाठी Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update आणि मग Check for updates.

• Go passwordless : Did you know—for improved security and a simple sign-in experience, you can sign in with your face, fingerprint or PIN? मायक्रोसॉफ्टने आजपासून त्यांच्या विंडोज ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टिमचं नवं अपडेट Windows 10 May 2019 उपलब्ध करून देण्यास सुरुवात केली आहे. या अपडेटमध्ये प्रामुख्याने सांगता येईल अशी नवी गोष्ट म्हणजे लाईट थीम. सोबत Kaomoji या जपानी इमोटीकॉन्स (उदा. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) साठी सपोर्ट, विंडोज सॅंडबॉक्स सुविधा, कोर्टाना व विंडोज सर्चचं विभाजन, इ बदल पाहायला मिळतील.

या सर्वांसोबत मायक्रोसॉफ्टने विंडोज रिलीज हेल्थ डॅशबोर्ड आणला असून आपण ज्यावेळी नव्या अपडेटद्वारे ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टिम अपडेट करतो त्यावेळी त्यामध्ये कोणत्या अडचणी येत आहेत हे या ठिकाणी दर्शवलं जाईल. गेल्यावेळच्या ऑक्टोबर अपडेट दरम्यान उडालेल्या गोंधळामुळे मायक्रोसॉफ्ट आता खास काळजी घेताना दिसत आहे. मे २०१९ अपडेट सुद्धा एकाच वेळी सर्वांना उपलब्ध करून न देता टप्प्याटप्प्यात उपलब्ध उपलब्ध करून देण्यात येत आहे. नव्या अपडेटचा व्हर्जन नंबर Windows 10 1903 असा आहे.

हे मे २०१९ अपडेट मिळवण्यासाठी Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update नंतर Checking for updates अशा क्रमाने जा विंडोज अपडेट सुरू होईल. यासाठी काही कालावधी लागू शकतो. अपडेट करण्यापूर्वी खबरदारीचा उपाय म्हणून महत्वाच्या फाइल्सचा बॅकअप घ्यायला विसरू नका.

अँड्रॉइडच्या चाहत्यांमध्ये नेहमी पुढे असणारं नाव म्हणजे वनप्लस कंपनीतर्फे मिळणार सॉफ्टवेअर सपोर्ट नक्कीच चांगला आहे. गेले काही महिने मात्र वनप्लसने 3 व 3T या मॉडेल्सच्या अपडेटवर फार लक्ष दिलं नव्हतं. अँड्रॉइड 8.0 ओरीओ अपडेट मध्ये सुद्धा समस्या असल्याने चक्क कंपनीला अपडेट मागे घ्यावं लागलं होतं!
त्यानंतर त्यांनी किमान अँड्रॉइड 8.1 अपडेट देण्यात येईल असं आश्वासन दिलं होतं मात्र आज त्यांच्या फोरमवर केलेल्या पोस्टनुसार अँड्रॉइड 8.1 गाळून थेट पुढील अँड्रॉइड P 9.0 अपडेट दिलं जाईल असं अधिकृतरित्या जाहीर केलं आहे! हे फोन जून २०१६ आणि नोव्हेंबर २०१६ मध्ये सादर झाले होते! त्या वेळी भारतातल्या सर्वाधिक विकल्या जाणाऱ्या फोन्समध्ये यांनी स्थान मिळवलं होतं!

अँड्रॉइड फोन्सना काही महिन्यानंतर लगेच अपडेट मिळणं जवळपास पूर्ण बंद होतं. आयफोनच्या तुलनेत ह्या एका बाबतीत अँड्रॉइड फोन्स नक्कीच मागे आहेत असं म्हणावं लागेल. आता सादर होणारे फोन्स  कमी करून सॉफ्टवेअर सपोर्ट वर सुद्धा लक्ष देणं गरजेचं आहे हे कंपन्यांना लवकर समजावं. सोनीने त्यांच्या सर्व फोन्सना AOSP सॉफ्टवेअर पुरवलं असल्यामुळे जरी अधिकृत अपडेट बंद झाले तरी डेव्हलपर चांगलं सॉफ्टवेअर स्वतः बनवू शकतात . किमान असाच सपोर्ट जर प्रत्येक फोन निर्मात्याने दिला तरी चांगली गोष्ट आहे!
   
काही दिवसांपूर्वीच वनप्लसने ओरीओ आधारित सॉफ्टवेअर अपडेट 5.0.4 द्वारे फ्रंट कॅमेरा सुधारणे अँड्रॉइड जुलै सिक्युरिटी पॅच, ISO सेटिंज दुरुस्त केल्या होत्या. वनप्लसने आता त्यांच्या 3, 3T, 5, 5T आणि नवा 6 या सर्व फोन्सना अँड्रॉइड P अपडेट मिळेल असं जाहीर केलं आहे! दरम्यान वनप्लस 6 ला आलेल्या अपडेट मुळे काही जणांना स्क्रीन फ्लिकर होताना दिसत असल्याच निदर्शनास आलं आहे. लवकरच गूगलकडून या अँड्रॉइड P व्हर्जनच अधिकृत नाव जाहीर केलं जाईल!
